In this one I’m sat down with the lads for a proper hobby catch-up, and it very quickly turns into that classic Painting Phase mix of minis, pop culture, and the grim reality of how much our “toys” cost now. We bounce from what we’ve been watching (emotional support TV shows absolutely count) into what we’ve been playing, with Space Marine 2 getting the most love and the most roasting. It’s brilliant fun, but I’m still calling it “the most violent lift attendant in the galaxy” because it’s basically: brutal carnage… then politely operate a door console. The big chat is the price comparison: is Warhammer more expensive than LEGO? And honestly, modern LEGO is wild. We’re talking “Home Alone house needs a mortgage” levels of wild, and the whole thing has drifted from “build whatever you want” to “build what’s on the box and never touch it again.” That said, I’m also the guy who’s been slowly building a UCS Millennium Falcon since February, so I’m not exactly innocent. Hobby-wise, I finally started my Leagues of Votann… in LEGO Ice Planet colours. White, ice blue, black, silver, and that punchy translucent-red vibe—pure nostalgia.
