About This Video

If you’ve got an ecommerce dog brand, SEO can feel absolutely mammoth—because you’re not optimising “a website”, you’re optimising a whole pile of pages, products, and collections. In this video, I walk you through exactly where I’d start, using a real dog enrichment store as the example, so you can make small changes that make a big difference (without burning your brain out). I start on the homepage: pick one clear target keyword for the page, then put it in the key places that actually move the needle at beginner level—your meta title (SEO title/title tag), your H1 (page title), and at least one subheading. I also show you how I sanity-check keyword intent by Googling it: if the results are mostly blogs and “People also ask” is full of questions, Google thinks the searcher wants info—not a shop page. Next, I go to category/collection pages (because with ecommerce, that’s where you get the biggest wins fastest). I use search volume and competition data (I use Keywords Everywhere) to choose better phrases—then add short intro copy to explain the category, naturally include synonyms, and help customers understand why they’d buy. Once your categories are solid, blogging becomes the game-changer: answer the questions people are already asking, link internally to your products, and you’ll start pulling in the broader traffic that’s perfect for your store.
