In this video, I review and live edit copy for a product launch for The Big Dog Bed Company. Their new car cube travel product was featured in the Times newspaper and is now ready for public launch. Watch and see how I use tiny tweaks to improve the launch copy for this awesome product launch. I mistakenly refer to them as The Big Dog Company at the start of this video which was incorrect! About This Video

In this ecommerce copy edit, I review and live-edit a four-email product launch sequence for The Big Dog Bed Company’s Car Cube dog seat (yes, I accidentally say “The Big Dog Company” at the start). The product was featured in The Times, and the whole point of the sequence is to capitalise on that credibility, remind people why they cared in the first place, and then make it ridiculously easy to buy. I walk through the kind of “tiny tweaks” that make a big difference: writing the subject line and preview text on purpose (because if nobody opens, the body copy doesn’t matter), breaking up big blocks of text so it’s not an assault on the eyes, and bolding key lines so the reader’s eyes flow. I also flag an important targeting issue—don’t write “remember when you entered…” unless the email is only going to entrants—and I show how to strengthen that section if the list is broader. From there, I tighten the benefit bullets with a constant “so what?” filter, pull in missing use-cases from the product page (like nervous travellers and older dogs), and add links where people naturally want them. In the second email, I lean into social proof with a third-party review and use curiosity (and numbers) to boost opens and clicks.
