In this video I’m breaking down why our Taco Vinyl grille badge is actually cheaper than the Amazon knockoffs—even when the sticker price looks higher. I’ve bought and handled a bunch of the common $12–$22 badges, and the patterns are always the same: super thin material options, “3M style” diamonds with no real backing, and construction-grade zinc-plated hardware that’s a nightmare to mount on an actual grille. Some of them make you tighten the badge first and then add the diamonds, which sounds fine until you need to remove it—because now you’ve got to pull the diamonds just to get the badge off. I also show a real customer example: a $22 badge that went from “new” to completely corroded posts in about 6 months sitting in the sun. That’s the whole point—if you’re replacing a cheap badge every few months, it’s not cheap anymore. Our badges use stainless steel hardware, UV-resistant materials, and UV-resistant paint done here in Boise, Idaho, with diamonds and backing made in the USA. Plus, my diamonds are interchangeable—if you chip one, you replace a diamond instead of buying a whole new badge. Buy once, cry once.
