One screws into your wall in place of a normal dryer vent pipe, and the other attaches to your clothes dryer with the provided 3' flex house and two clamps. When you get the two magnetic rings close together, they "snap" into alignment, automatically connecting your dryer to the wall vent inlet. This would be most beneficial where it is difficult to get behind the dryer to connect up the vent hose. However, the two magnets near to be somewhat close before they will 'jump together', so you will need to make sure that the Dryer end approaches the wall side adapter within a few inches. (If it is way off to the side, the edges of the magnets grab, but it doesn't rotate into place to make a seal.) I suspect you will find yourself with a loop of string holding up the dryer side magnet, and holding it up behind the dryer, tugging to the left/right to make sure it's in the right place before swinging it to the wall magnet. Still, if you can't get behind the dryer to attach the hose yourself, a small amount of string tugging is a good option. I was looking to use it in a space constrained situation, trying to get my dryer even closer to the wall then it is, but the set of magnets and adapter actually takes up more space away from the wall than my existing 1" of rigid pipe that sticks out of the wall, so it's not a great space saving solution, it's more of an effort saving solution for situations where you can't attach the hose yourself before pushing the dryer into place.
