It has a relatively wide flange so if you are a little messy cutting the hole it will cover your sins. While the ratings say the three outlets are good for 1500 watts, and the plug and cord feel beefy, the power switch feels very small and "clicky" and gave me the general impression that you probably wouldn't want to put a full 12 amps through it. [It does have a small white "power on" indicator light which is nice to confirm that the powerstrip is receiving power.] The USB ports are very flexible for charging a single device. You have a USB-C PD 65 watt outlet (20 volts at 3.25A max), as well as a retractable USB-C cable for charging phones or tablets at up to 20 watts, and a USB-A quick charge 3 (5,9,12 volts) for charging devices with legacy USB-A plugs. (You also get a bonus unlabeled USB-C port...) Each of these ports work great individually, but if you use more than one port at a time, they all go down to 5 volts at a few amps. This is fine for slow charging a lot of small devices, but will prevent most laptops from charging. You do have 3 AC outlets so if you have your own power adapter for a laptop you can just ignore the limitations of the USB ports. But at this price point, I'd like there to be at least some independence between the different USB ports and the ability to charge two devices at different voltages simultaneously. The case feels solid and looks professional, and is secured by 8 deeply embedded triangular security bits, so I couldn't look inside to determine the actual quality of the "clicky" switch that didn't' feel terribly great to me.
