It has M48 threads on the telescope side, and M42 threads on the camera side (but also includes an M42-M48 adapter so you can use a M48/T tube on the camera side if you want). The package includes two drawers, so you can have one with a filter and one without for a straight through setup, or be changing filters on the 2nd drawer while shooting images using the first drawer. The drawers hold in place very well with two magnets (I wasn't worried about them falling out, even facing straight down) but if you want extra insurance, there is a grub screw that can be used to lock the drawer in place. [But to access the grub screw, you will need to remove your camera.] The unit comes in a plastic storage box that ships inside of a cardboard box. The storage box is relatively large compared to the filter drawer itself, so you might want to make your own storage solution if space is at a premium, but I can't fault the large amount of foam protection inside the case.
