The locking lever takes significant force to operate. The inside diameter (ID) of the hose compression ring is 8.8mm. My hose was 9.9mm OD, so I had to use a razor knife to shave it down to get the ring onto the hose. After that, the hose barb fit inside well and I was able to screw the compression ring onto the plastic base using a pair of pliers. It connected to my shrader valve and the seal held all the way up to 60 psi (target tire pressure). I did not test the 2nd (presta valve) opening, but I assume it also works. So it works, and if you have a 9m or 8.8mm OD tube it may be easy to install. The construction feels very inexpensive so I was glad it came in a 2pack so I have s spare on-hand if needed. Not impressed with anything other than the low low price, but it did function in my (first) test.
