I am very happy with the photos I took through it and it provides a nice 14mm wide angle for landscape or real estate photography, while also offering a zoom up to 24mm which makes it more flexible for framing. It worked well as a close up (but not Macro) lens for plants, and had great low light capabilities due to the F2.8 aperture. The auto-focus works well, and while slightly slower than an OEM lens it is perfectly acceptable for landscape and other wide angle photography purposes. I especially appreciate the fact that it supports 77mm filters and has a removable/reversible (for storage) lens hood. The manual AF/MF switch on the lens body and custom function button are also useful, as is the ability to program the manual focus ring to control the aperture when in auto focus mode. Although this is a larger lens, it doesn't feel especially heavy for its size, and the shell is definitely plastic. I feel it gives good value for the price, especially for a crop sensor e-mount camera. The only other comparable lens in this price range is the Sigma 14-24mm, or for about 3 times as much you could get the Sony G Master 14-24, which does have better optics and a slightly faster autofocus (but not 3 times better).
