If the AC power goes out, the powerbank keeps your device working. All plugs and jacks for the 12 volt side of things are DC5521 (5.5mm OD, 2.1mm ID barrel connectors) and they include a female to female adapter in case you need it. The device also has a 2 amp 5 volt USB-A port. It claims 3 amps, but shuts down if you draw 3 amps. It can provide 2.5 amps for short periods of time, but can only sustain 2 amps at 5 volts via the USB-A port. It CAN sustain 3 amps out of the 12 volt port, but the battery voltage sags quickly if drawn down at the 3 amp rate. The battery voltage ranges from 9-12.6 volts, so it is a little lower than your typical 11-14.2 volt car battery range. Overall the capacity I was able to get out of the powerbank as 65-85% of the claimed nameplate capacity (65% for USB-A port, 85% for 12 volt port at 1A discharge rate). So it doesn't meet the advertised capacity, but I feel it has reasonable capacity for this price point. I verified that the battery does have a BMS that has balance connection points in the pack, so it does appear to have all of the protection that you would want and expect from a LiIon battery pack. Overall, as long as you understand the limitations of this device, it could be a great little backup power supply for a cable modem or other 12 volt native device that is able to operate on 9-12 volts. I do wish it had a USB-C input/output port for charging / discharging, but again, this is a low price point device, so you are trading the native 12 volt port for a lot of normal "powerbank" features.
