Review: RadioWavZ DX 40 (meter) OCF windom dipole HAM antenna - NOT RECOMMENDED

I had a LOT of trouble getting this antenna tuned. I eventually had to add wire to one end, slightly change the long/short leg ratio, and add a 1:1 choke under the balun to get it to tune properly at the 40m band (SWR less than 1.1) while also haven somewhat acceptable (SWR less than 2) performance on the 20M band. [I still use a trans-match / antenna tuner on the 20m band to reduce transmitter heating.] As far as I can tell, they shipped me the dipole shorter than it should have been (the short leg was about 2 feet longer, but the long leg was multiple feet shorter than the theroetical 1/3 : 2/3 ratio would imply, and the overall antenna length was shorter than theory as well. Yes, I know about velocity factor, but it was less than the 66' length advertised on the website.) They appear to require that you use part of the feed-line as a radiating element to electrically "lengthen" the antenna they ship you, and they also require you to provide your own choke. [Other OCF antennas include a 4:1 Balun AND 1:1 current choke together at the feedpoint.] Three emails requesting support to RadioWavZ over the course of a month went unanswered, which is the bigger failure in support that makes me never want to buy from them again. [Despite the fact that I had good experiences with one of their 20m Double Bazooka Dipoles I purchased used at a tailgate/swap.] If I had it to do all over again, I'd go for an MFJ-2010 (if available) or maybe just buy a 4:1 balun with 1:1 choke kit and source my own wire.
