No load voltage was 7.8 volts out of the box. I opened it up and confirmed the existence of a BMS board controlling the charging/discharging of the battery. Using a battery capacity charge/discharge tester, I found that the battery had an actual capacity from the factory of 5.2 Ah, which is slightly better than the 4.8 Ah nameplate rating. Overall the construction looked solid, it had excess capacity from the factory, and I expect it will work well.
