Amazon Affiliate Link: https://amzn.to/4guafZ9 Price as reviewed: $30 Frozen Fruit Ice Cream Attachment for Kitchenaid Stand Mixer, Natural Fruit Desserts Maker, Frozen Yogurt Maker, Maker, Frozen Fruit Soft Serve Maker From the GLINK Store This frozen fruit "masher" attaches to the front accessory port on a KitchenAid stand mixer. It has a stainless steel center shaft and metal attachment point, but everything else is a hard smooth plastic. All metal parts appeared to be stainless steel (my magnet wasn't attracted to anything except the shaft, and even that was a very weak attraction) so I believe their dishwasher safe claim. I put in alternating chunks of frozen bananas and blackberries, and it did a good job mixing the two inside the archimedes screw it uses to chop and push the frozen fruit out the star shaped nozzle on the front. The manual also includes some recipes to try that get slightly more complicated than "put in frozen fruit". My only complaint about the operation is that due to the high attachment point, you have to hold up a bowl to accept the frozen 'soft serve' sorbet as it comes out, use another hand to put frozen fruit into the hopper, and use a third hand to use the plunger to push the fruit down onto the screw. You can make it work by setting down the plunger while loading fruit, but having a box or stand to hold up the output bowl may help. When you are finished, there is about 2 TBS of Cleanup is simple, I just sprayed it out with my sink sprayer and then put all the parts into the dishwasher. [You could also quickly clean it by hand with soapy water if you didn't want to take up the room on the top shelf in your dishwasher.] If you have a KitchenAid stand mixer this attachment makes it easy to make soft serve fruit sobet.
