It also has a few "sleep" timers (where it will turn off after 15, 30, 45 minutes, or 1,2,4,8 hours) and "wake" timers (where it will turn on after a set amount of time) but the downside is that it only has a few pre-programmed times. (15,30,45 minutes, and 1,2,4,8,12 hours. You can't say for example "wake in 38 minutes", only "wake in 45 minutes". So this is useful to turn off a light after an hour, but not for precise minute by minute control. You can use up to 5 outlets in the same room (they can be programmed to respond to "plug 1" through "plug 5"). The big advantage here is that it doesn't require anything else, no data leaking outside your house, no wifi or network, no cell phone, etc. The downside is the same. You can't remotely turn the lights on/off from elsewhere, the "programming" is very limited, so mostly it is good for in-room control of a light (or anything else that will turn on automatically when power is applied). The voice recognition is decent. I found that as long as you put a pause between the "hey emerson" wake word and the command it worked well. It was able to respond successfully even over the noise of a TV a medium volume.
