Fixing a Geeni smart powerstrip GN-SW023 ground shorted to neutral GFCI trip manufacturing defect

I purchased two of these, and only one had the faulty wire routing issue. It was clearly a defective assembly step at the factory, as the proper place to solder the wire to had been pre-tinned, and the correctly working unit had the wire soldered to the correct location. The updated version has 1x USB-C and 1x USB-A port, as opposed to the 2x USB-A ports mine did.
