Hi friends, it’s me Stace. In today’s video I’m giving you a small yard tour and a real-life pond update—because back here has turned into a whole project. I show you what we’ve been doing around the pool (moving some front-yard plants, my hardy hibiscus with different colored blooms, cactus, and the aloe that loves to make babies everywhere). Then I take you to the back where we’ve had to put up a chain link fence to keep the girls out, since the yard isn’t fully fenced right now. The big reason we’re back there is this monster tree that completely uprooted and came down with so much force it ran the whole length of the property and even landed on our neighbor’s fence. Hubby cleared it off the fence, but now we’ve got the hard part—cutting it all up and moving those heavy logs. I also show you how many other trees and branches it took out along the way, plus the crazy vines (like Tarzan vines!) and poison ivy that’s wrapped through a whole cluster of trees. I also walk you around the pond (yes, I’m watching for turtles and critters because I’m a chicken), and you can see why it’s so green and yucky right now—so much tree debris falls in. The plan is: get as much cleared as we can before Monday, have a land-clearing guy come mulch through, rebuild the back fence, remove the chain link fence, and then tackle the pond so it can actually be clear and pretty again.
