Hi friends, it’s me Stace, and in this video I’m walking you step-by-step through making an adorable DIY cactus card with your Cricut. I start in Cricut Design Space by searching “cactus card” under Projects, then I show you exactly how I customize it—detaching layers, using Contour to hide the four corners and that outer border, and then lining everything back up so it draws and cuts where it’s supposed to. One of the biggest takeaways is how I attach the draw layer to a rectangle so the Cricut will actually cut a clean card front (otherwise it’s just drawing and cutting inner pieces with nothing to cut around). After everything is cut, we assemble the card super quick. I share all my measurements for the card base and layers, then I glue the cactus panel to glitter cardstock (I’m using Art Glitter Glue), pop it up with foam squares, and mount it on a white base for that pretty white-on-white look. For the inside, I like adding a colored layer to “beef up” a cheaper white card base, then I stamp a simple greeting (“stuck on you”) with VersiFine black ink and add a little heart. Fast cards are my favorite, and this one is seriously cute and beginner-friendly because the Cricut does all the work for us.
