Hi friends, it’s me, Stace. In this backyard update, I’m sharing where we’re at now that the fence is officially done (it’s been about two weeks). We decided to add screening even though we weren’t going to at first, and I’m actually really glad we did—plus it ended up not being as hard as we thought. I also show you where our property line is and explain why we came in about 3 feet instead of trying to fight all the shrubs and trees right on the line. I’m also keeping it real: the fence isn’t perfect and it’s not perfectly straight—it bows out in one spot and in on another—but we’re okay with it because we’re not fence installation people. The main thing is the yard is fenced in so the girls can enjoy all of it. I walk you through the next steps too: filling in holes/divots with dirt (we’ll probably need a delivery), dealing with big roots, and getting ready to start taking down a leaning tree that has me a little nervous. And yes… we’ve got ducks. They keep coming into our yucky pond even though they could go next door, and since Dina is a bird dog, I’ve got to be careful. I also show that the old chain link fence is gone, and we still have some poles, logs, and a pile of rocks to deal with—so I’m calling dump companies to price out removal.
