Happy New Year, friends! In this video I’m doing a real-life check-in on my unfinished projects—because if you sew, you already know how easy it is to roll into a new year with a few “almost done” makes sitting right there in the sewing room. I’m wearing my Simplicity S8016 while I chat, and then I walk you through where I left off on my Simplicity S1254 bouclé coat and exactly what it still needs to get over the finish line. I also share my current body measurements so you can better understand how I’m approaching fit and sizing. Next up is my Babylon Leather shoulder bag project—the Baguette Shoulder Bag DIY kit that I’m making for my granddaughter. I show what’s already assembled and talk through the remaining steps so you can see what the build looks like mid-process (not just the pretty finished reveal). And because I couldn’t resist a little machine embroidery over the holidays, I also show a few Free Standing Lace (FSL) pieces I stitched out, including a 3D tree, a lace-edge coaster, and some sweet little earrings.
