March is FEARLESS SEWING, and this week I’m leaning all the way into Fearless Fabric with a dramatic, baroque, animal-print moment. In this video I sew up MimiG for Simplicity S9701 (View A) using a gorgeous double-border ITY knit from Vogue Fabrics. The pattern is a slim fit with that square neckline and sleeve options, and I walk you through how I approached it so the final look feels glam and intentional—not “I just threw on a knit dress.” I cut a size 14 and made one key tweak: I raised the neckline by 1 inch for a little more comfort and coverage while keeping the same vibe. I also connect this make to my other S9701 versions so you can see how the same pattern behaves in different knits (because fabric choice changes everything).
