About This Video

In this video I’m checking out the Mumba Nintendo Switch Grip Case, and like usual this isn’t sponsored—Mumba sent it over for me to test, and these are my honest opinions. It’s a super straightforward $20 case on Amazon: it protects your Switch, makes handheld play more comfortable, and keeps things simple with a plastic + rubber build. Once the Switch and Joy-Cons are in, it’s definitely big and bulky, but it feels sturdy rather than heavy—like you could accidentally drop it and feel way better knowing it’s wrapped in this giant shell. What surprised me most is how usable it is day-to-day. All the buttons and ports are accessible (game card slot, headphone jack, vents, volume, power), and none of the vents are blocked so overheating isn’t something I worried about. The built-in kickstand is also legit, with a satisfying click and multiple angles for tabletop mode. Comfort-wise, I ran a few one-hour Hades sessions and had no cramping even with larger hands—honestly, not thinking about the grip at all is kind of the best compliment. I do have a couple minor issues: the Switch won’t dock with this version on, the shoulder buttons aren’t really protected if it fell in a weird way, and it can be annoying to remove the console from the case. Still, for $20, I was pleasantly surprised—good protection, better handheld grip than plain Joy-Cons, and solid value.
