This microphone won't break the bank, but delivers on sound. Thanks to Tonor for sending me this product! About This Video

In this video I’m checking out the Tonor TC-777, a budget USB microphone that’s around $40, and it’s aimed at people who are working from home, gaming, or just starting out streaming and want something better than a webcam mic or built-in headset mic. Tonor sent this over for me to review, so I walk through the unboxing (pretty simple and honestly not the most exciting), and then I get into what you actually get for the money: the mic already attached to the shock mount and stand, plus a windsock and a pop filter. Build quality-wise, it’s mostly plastic with a bit of metal here and there, and I’m fine with that because the whole point is keeping the price low. I like that it has rubber feet so it doesn’t scratch up your desk, and it folds down into a smaller form factor if you want to toss it in a drawer. I also talk specs like the cardioid pickup pattern (great for voice in front of the mic), then I do a real-world sound test using a clip from my Among Us stream. My main issues aren’t about audio—they’re about the non-removable pop filter arm and the mic sometimes sliding out of the shock mount bands. Overall, if you want a decent-sounding mic without breaking the bank, the price-to-quality ratio is hard to argue.
