I’m basically doing a realistic Year 11 mocks recap — the good, the bad, and the ugly — because my school is insanely quick at getting marks back (we’re just built like that). I go through my papers in order and tell you exactly how they felt in the moment: English Language Paper 1 (timing is my actual enemy), Biology being harder than I expected because it exposed my massive content gap (monoclonal antibodies… yeah), and English Lit Paper 2 where I was still writing while everyone else was closing their papers. I also talk about the chaos of having back-to-back exams (like English Lit straight into Geography), how tired I was, and how I fully messed up my timing so badly I missed a whole last question in Geography — a nine marker that genuinely upset me. Maths was a mix: Paper 1 felt good because the hours of revision saved me, Paper 3 was heavenly, but Paper 2… genuinely what was that. I share what actually worked for me (like doing six hours of revision the day before Physics), what didn’t, and the main takeaway: even if mocks humbled me, we’ve still got months before GCSEs, so I’m using this as a reset and improving from here.
