In this video I’m checking out the Umeo (Umevo) Note AI voice recorder, and I was honestly pretty interested to see how well this “Chat GBT” powered transcription stuff works in real life. Right out of the box, the first thing that hit me is how insanely thin and tiny this recorder is—basically credit-card thin. It’s got a simple switch for modes (note recording vs call recording), a power/record button, and it comes with a magnetic phone attachment, a USB-C cable, and a USB-C to USB-A adapter. I walk you through setup from the manual QR code to installing the AI DVR Link app, logging in, and pairing over Bluetooth. Then I do a quick real-world test: I hit record, talk for a bit, stop, and let the app generate a summary. It took about a minute to a minute and a half to produce meeting-minute style bullet points plus a full transcript, and I like that it also gives a visual “mini map” style summary. I also show the playback controls, speed changes, editing, and options like rename, trim, retranscribe/resummarize, and device settings like firmware updates and factory reset. Overall, it’s a super cool little recorder—my only real concern is how easily it could fall off a phone if you’re tossing it in your pocket.
