In this video i quickly show you my process when i am filming outdoors. Like how to set my exposure with my desired settings. AND i just found out that i can cheat with the Variable ND filter to eliminate reflections like with a CPL filter! :O Check that out! -------------------------------------------⚙️ MY CURRENT GEAR ⚙️-------------------------------- Camera: Canon EOS R10 📸 https://amzn.to/3y7ljtp Main lens: SIGMA 24-70mm 2.8 ART https://amzn.to/3JRoTKA Other lenses: RF-S 18-45mm Kit lens | RF 50mm 1.8 V-mount battery: ZGCine V99 https://amzn.to/4eidlya Wireless MIC: Hollyland LARK M2: https://amzn.to/4c4Z1qF On-Camera microphone: RØDE Video-Micro https://amzn.to/4aRfz4q GoPro: Hero 8 https://amzn.to/3WwPR1M Drone: DJI Mini 2 https://amzn.to/3UOBfth Light: COLBOR CL60 Bi-Color https://amzn.to/3QBVGae Light Stand: Walimex Pro GN-806 https://amzn.to/3yM8FQM Stabilizer: ZHIYUN Weebill S https://amzn.to/4b42wxu Tripod: Miliboo Video Tripod https://amzn.to/3JNtqhg ND Filter: K&F Concept 2-400 Variable https://amzn.to/3JP68rp Mist Filter: K&F Variable ND 2-400 & Black-Mist 1/4 https://amzn.to/3V0bCpH Monitor: VILTROX DC-550 https://amzn.to/3yPopTe Mattebox: Smallrig Mattebox Lite: https://amzn.to/3KrpoLK Camera Cage: Smallrig cage for R10 https://amzn.to/3VboiZk Base plate: https://amzn.to/4c3WGMH 15mm rod: https://amzn.to/3yNOCl2 Music and Sfx: EpidemicSound Thank you for watching it and see you in the next video! About This Video

In this video I’m out on a super sunny day and I show you my quick process to get the exposure right without overthinking it. I start with the basics: I’m shooting 4K at 24fps, so I set my shutter speed to 1/50 (double the frame rate), and I keep my ISO as low as possible—on my Canon R10 that’s ISO 100. Then I choose my look with aperture. I like to stay wide open at f/2.8 on my Sigma 24-70 because it gives me that nice shallow depth of field and background blur. Of course, in bright sun those “cinematic” settings will blow out your image, so the real key is an ND filter. I recommend a variable ND because you can just rotate it and dial in the exposure until it looks correct, without changing your shutter or aperture. And then I share a little extra trick I just discovered: you can kind of “cheat” a polarizer look with a variable ND. Without changing the ND strength, you rotate the filter itself on the lens and you can reduce reflections on glass—like seeing through a car windshield way clearer—similar to what you’d use a CPL for.
