Weddings are a whole different game because there are no second takes. My biggest lessons were preparation, focus, and power/storage. I thought I was prepared, but the day moved so fast that I realized I needed the schedule inside out—otherwise you’re always reacting. Autofocus saved me a lot, but I also learned not to rely on it 100%, and I explain why I switched to manual focus for critical moments like the ring. And yeah… I made a brutal mistake: I left my hard case at home after a one-hour drive, which meant no extra batteries, no extra SD cards, and no BTS gear. I also talk about why ND filters are non-negotiable, how I handled SD card recording, why I skipped audio on this first wedding, and my choice to shoot 24fps to keep it feeling real-time and “in the moment.”
