If your loops feel flat, this shows a fast way to add weight and width using Monomono’s mix devices inside Ableton Live. I’m using the Volume One pack for Curves Optocomp and Tape, plus the Console x 8056 suite for channel and summing. All devices run on Push 3 in standalone. 🔗 Links Console x 8056 by Monomono: https://isotonikstudios.com/product/consolex8056-by-monomono/?ISO=pushpatterns Volume One by Monomono: https://isotonikstudios.com/product/volume-one-by-monomono/?ISO=pushpatterns What I cover • Pultec style boost and cut with Curves • Neve style compression with Comp x 54 • Pre x 73 drive on bass • OptoComp on vocals • Tape hiss, wear and decks for lowfi tone • Console x 80 summing with modern and vintage modes • Randomised channel variation and soft clip for glue • Push 3 standalone set up Chapters 00:00 Intro and what we are testing 00:29 Fix a flat loop with Curves 03:39 Comp x 54 on drums 04:22 Pre x 73 drive on bass then Comp x 54 05:26 EQ x 73 on synths spread for stereo space 07:23 OptoComp on vocals 08:01 Tape wear hiss and deck choices for lofi 08:36 Console x 80 summing vintage vs modern soft clip 09:52 Whole mix A B with console and without Free Ableton Training: ✅ Free Ableton Live Training - https://www.pushpatterns.com/free-ableton-live-training ✅ Free Ableton Push 3 Training - https://www.pushpatterns.com/free-ableton-push-3-training 🎛️ Learn Ableton Live 12: https://bit.ly/43c3xSt 📲 Connect with Me 📸 Instagram: @pushpatterns 🐤 TikTok: @pushpatterns 🌍 Website: www.PushPatterns.com 👋 Who Am I? About This Video

In this video I’m testing some vintage hardware-inspired Max for Live mix devices from Monomono inside Ableton Live—EQ, compression, preamp drive, tape, and analog-style summing. The big question is simple: they look great, they’re affordable, and they run on Push 3 standalone… but do they actually sound any good? So I grab a flat, lifeless loop and bring it back to life starting with Curves, a Pultec-style EQ where I can boost and attenuate for that “magical” curve, plus a really handy twist: I can link or unlink the boost/attenuate frequencies. From there I lean into character. I use Comp x 54 (Neve-style) to add punch and control on drums, then hit the bass with Pre x 73 for grip and body before compressing it. On synths I use EQ x 73 and that Spread control to sprinkle on stereo width without getting silly. Then I show OptoComp (LA-2A inspired) on vocals for smooth leveling, and Tape for hiss, wear, and different deck choices when you want instant lo-fi tone. Finally, I get into where these devices really come alive: Console x 80 summing. Modern vs vintage modes, soft clip, noise floor, and that Monomono randomize trick for subtle channel variation that adds a bit of wideness—like seasoning. I finish with a full mix A/B so you can actually hear what the console is doing.
