I was having coffee with my friend Alex and he hit me with the exact problem I hear all the time: “Eliot, Claude looks better… but I’ve spent months building my ChatGPT brain.” And honestly, I get it. Claude and Anthropic are absolutely killing it right now (Opus 4.6, Co-work, Claude Code), and if you’re running a business it’s hands down the #1 choice—but starting from zero is what stops people from switching. In this video, I show my exact migration system to transplant your ChatGPT context into Claude fast. First, I export everything from ChatGPT (Settings → Data Controls → Export Data), download the zip from email, and grab the chat.html file. Then I load it into a Claude Project as a knowledge base—either by uploading the file (watch the 31MB limit) or by opening chat.html, copying all text, and adding it as “text content” inside the project. From there, I have Claude summarize what it learns about me and then commit the important stuff into Claude’s Memory (Settings → Capabilities → generate memory from chat history). For power users, I also demo Claude Co-work: it can handle much larger files (like a 65MB chat history), run my “cognitive migration” prompt, and extract patterns from tens of thousands of conversations—then you just copy that output back into main Claude chat to merge it into Memory.
