In this video I break down Claude Co-work Skills from the ground up: what they are, why they’re more powerful than a single prompt, and how to start using them even if you’re completely non-technical. A Skill is basically me packaging a repeatable workflow (my step-by-step SOP, rules, quality checks, tone, and sometimes templates/assets/scripts) into something Claude can run automatically—so I’m not re-explaining myself every time. When you get them right, they can trigger conversationally (like saying “branded invoice”) or you can force-load them with a / command, and you can stack multiple Skills together. I show you where Skills live in Claude (Customize → Skills), how to enable Anthropic’s built-ins (especially the Skill Creator), and how to upload the 10 free Skills I’m giving away. Then I demo real workflows: generating a fully branded invoice in seconds (logo, colors, fonts, the lot), and using a Transcript Atomiser to pull content angles from messy conversations. Finally, I walk you through creating your own Skills using the Skill Creator—turning an existing prompt into a proper Skill, and building a “Brand Applicator” that extracts your logos, colors, fonts, and guidelines so anything you create comes out consistently on-brand. The big takeaway: Skills + a knowledge base (projects/files) lets you automate whole chunks of admin and content work without hiring help or becoming technical.
