The first couple of weeks I used Claude Co-work, it honestly felt like driving a Ferrari in first gear. I could tell it was powerful, but I hadn’t set it up in a way that was safe, repeatable, or fast. In this video I walk through 7 tips I wish I’d known from day one—starting with the single best habit: work inside a dedicated Co-work sandbox folder. Don’t point Co-work at your whole drive (or your real screenshots folder) while you’re learning, because if it renames or deletes the wrong thing, you’ll be cleaning up a mess. From there, I show how to use a Claude.md file as “always-on” instructions for a folder, so you can literally type “go” and it knows how to organize, name, and folderize your files automatically. Then I layer in how to pull your existing Claude Projects into Co-work tasks, and how connectors (like Apollo, Notion, Gmail, Chrome, etc.) push Co-work beyond your desktop. I also cover syncing cloud workflows using Google Drive for Desktop so Co-work can work on Drive files like they’re local, plus a simple safety pattern: duplicate files into a deliverables folder instead of editing originals. Finally, I show scheduled tasks—so with your computer on and the Claude desktop app running, Co-work can run daily briefings and automations on a timer.
