In this video I test the Sylical Gear Helix, which is their first gaming mouse (launched late last year), and I break down whether it’s actually worth the money. It’s a white mouse with either a black or yellow scroll wheel, and it comes in at €100 (about $120). Right away, I thought the price was a bit high for the build quality and specs you can get from other mice, but I still put it through my usual checks: build, coating, clicks, shape, software, and real gaming performance. The Helix is a full plastic shell with pretty solid build quality and minimal flex if you really press on it. Mine weighed around 42g with dot skates, so it feels super light in hand. The coating was pretty mid and got slippery for me, so I ended up adding grip tape to keep my grip locked in. Shape-wise it’s symmetrical with a mid hump and a taller front end—good for claw/palm, and it reminded me of a smaller Zowie U2 and kind of ULX Medium-ish in size. Performance was solid in-game with no issues, and battery life was decent at about 3 days on 4K polling. I like the main clicks (Omron opticals) and the scroll wheel feel, but the side buttons were a bit mushy and the click sound was a little pingy. If they fix the coating/side buttons and drop the price closer to $100, it’d be an easier recommendation—especially if you like that U2-style shape but want something lighter and smaller.
