In this video I’m checking out the ATK F1 Ultimate V2, which is ATK’s update to the popular F1 lineup. I’ve got the Ultimate (the mid-range model) in the pearl blue colorway, and right out of the box it felt super slippery—probably factory dust—but the coating got better once I started actually using it. Build-wise, it does feel a bit budget: the plastic is dense and I can get a little creaking if I press hard, but nothing that normal gaming is going to break. Overall though, it’s still put together solid with no real flex from top, bottom, or side-to-side. Feature-wise, the Ultimate comes with a 3950 sensor, 8K polling, and ATK’s custom optical switches. The clicks are nice and spammable, but they’re a little too light for me, and I did accidentally click in-game a few times. Scroll wheel is smooth, side buttons are easy to hit, and the web-based software is simple for DPI, polling rate, and macros. My biggest complaint is the sensor position being too low—it made my crosshair feel lower than usual, and I’m bummed ATK didn’t change that from V1. Still, at around $70, performance is strong and it’s a really solid budget gaming mouse if that sensor placement doesn’t bother you.
