We’re back on the Gibb River Road for Episode 3 of our Kimberley run, and honestly… this stretch has been the most rewarding part of the trip so far. We roll into Mount Elizabeth Station (MTE) for an off-grid stay and use it as the launch pad for a proper 4WD mission—rugged tracks, remote creek crossings, and that classic Kimberley feeling where you’re a long way from anywhere (in the best way). The main event is the hike into Wunnamurra Gorge, and it’s the definition of a hidden gem. It’s raw, quiet, and wildly underrated—one of those spots that makes you stop and go, “How is this not being talked about more?” If you’re planning your own Kimberley road trip, we’d genuinely say don’t skip it.
