In this build tour I’m walking you through our 2013 Pajero setup after living full-time in it for nearly a year and then ripping it all apart to rebuild it properly for the next chapter of our Aussie lap. We’ve already clocked up a stack of kilometres through NSW, ACT, VIC, SA and the lower NT, and after racing home during a cyclone we smashed out this whole rebuild in about four weeks. This is the fit-out you’ve all been hanging out for—built around real-life, everyday travel, not just looking tidy for a weekend away. I cover the big changes we made: a fully redesigned DIY interior, upgraded storage with custom drawers, a proper water system upgrade through Outback Equipment, and a Renogy 12V power setup so we can live off-grid more comfortably. Up top, we’ve also upgraded our Bushwakka rooftop tent and run their 270 awning for quick shade and weather cover—because gorges, windy beaches and chaotic camp setups are basically our whole personality. The goal with this build is simple: keep it functional, tough, and easy to live in as we roll into the Kimberley in May 2025.
