In this video, I walk you through how I think about course pricing so people actually buy, and it starts with one big mindset shift: your price shouldn’t be based on your income goal alone. It should be based on the type of course you’re creating and the transformation your student gets from start to finish. I break down three pricing tiers I recommend: a foundational (beginner) course typically in the $100–$200 range, a specialized ultra-niche course around $200–$500, and a deep-dive, high-touch transformation course that can range from $500–$3,000. I also share how to check your competition without copying them, how to offer two-tier pricing (like a live cohort vs. self-paced), and how to use beta testers to validate pricing—by asking what they expect to save or make and using the median to set a smart price. Finally, I cover payment plans (I recommend them for courses over $200 and I add about 10% to the payment plan total), plus a simple way to reverse-engineer your launch goal into the number of sales you need.
