Pinguicula (commonly called butterworts) are carnivorous plants that trap and digest small insects like fungus gnats using sticky, gland-covered leaves. Unlike typical houseplants, many Pinguicula species naturally grow on rock surfaces and limestone cliffs, not in traditional soil.
