In this video I show you my actual daily driver for a Personal Knowledge Assistant (PKA): a simple folder on my machine, opened in VS Code, with Claude Code running in parallel terminals. The whole point is control and portability. I don’t want my knowledge trapped inside a tool-specific vault structure. When it’s just folders + plain markdown (text files) + a lightweight database, I can swap Claude for Gemini or ChatGPT later, open the system anywhere, and even build a local interface on top without “building an app.” I walk through real work: I drop a Word doc into the AI inbox, have Claude convert it to an OCR PDF, then archive and index it so it’s searchable later. In parallel, I use plan mode to design a new quotes table connected to context, seed it with AI productivity quotes via an agent, and update the local front-end so it shows a random quote on reload. I also show the practical power features: multiple terminals side-by-side, /loop for recurring tasks, browser automation through Chrome, mobile continuity via the Claude app, and /model switching (like Haiku for speed). My take: the PKM tool era is over—this folder-based PKA approach is the future of knowledge management.
