About This Video

I’m taking you along for the cosiest weekend we all needed. We started bright and early with a proper family morning—football, rugby, Jackson’s bike, and a dog walk in our favourite local park (it’s just a normal park, but at this time of year it’s honestly so pretty). Once we got home, Kiki had a wash and we all slowed down with hot chocolates, and I shared one of our favourite screen-free bits of the week: sitting together with The Week Junior and chatting through what’s going on in the world in a way the kids actually understand. Then it was full-on DIY mode with Jackson. We spent hours making a Clash Royale chest out of cardboard (with a very important emergency trip to the high street for the exact right blue paper, because colouring it ā€œclose enoughā€ was not acceptable to Mr Perfectionist!). I also showed you what we order when we get an Indian takeaway—my absolute favourite is a peshwari naan because it basically tastes like dessert—and I shared a really simple but effective fairy light tree we’ve added to the garden for this year. On Sunday, the day ran away with football, homework and a last-minute coffee catch-up, but we still did a proper roast. Our little ā€œhackā€ is roasting two whole chickens so we’ve got loads ready for wraps, sandwiches and easy meals in the week. I also showed a couple of bits I’ve picked up recently—a crown wash hair tool for refreshing just the top of my hair, and a shoe dryer that’s so handy for muddy trainers and boots at this time of year.
