It’s the Easter holidays and we’re keeping things really chilled this year because Fraser’s got his Year 10 mocks as soon as he’s back, so we’re not going abroad. We’ve been doing proper slow days at home (pyjamas, sleep-ins, friends round), but I wanted to break it up with a little change of scenery. So I’m taking you along for a weekend away: we head to Camas Hall in Essex for their Easter trail (it was genuinely really cute and Jackson loved it), and then we check into Down Hall for one night. Down Hall was such a treat for a family of five—our room was like a little suite with two separate spaces, loads of storage, and the most gorgeous view over the gardens and fountains. The boys were in their element with the grounds, the park, football nets and the piano (Caleb was buzzing), and we’d booked a paddle court for the next morning which Matt is obsessed with. I also had a bit of a moment to myself with a bath (literally in the middle of the bedroom!) and a chat about being the only woman in a house full of boys. Also… the mystery rash. I woke up super itchy with little spots on my neck and chin and couldn’t work out what I’d reacted to, so I share what I tried to calm it down while we still made the most of our Easter family time.
