It was my birthday weekend (I turned 43!) so we decided to escape the norm and book two nights away in a really cute little cabin by the sea in Kent — only about an hour and a half from home. We picked a dog-friendly stay so we could bring Kiki, which honestly made the whole trip even more special. I vlogged the drive, the first evening of ping pong and toasting marshmallows, and then the next morning I showed you around our cabin (we stayed in the “Boat House” which sleeps six) before heading straight out for a super windy beach walk. We spent the day doing all the cosy family bits I love — pancakes in the morning, Monopoly left out on the table, long walks, and letting Kiki live her best life with the zoomies (there’s even a dog park five minutes away). We also booked a hot tub/sauna/cold plunge session and I actually did the cold plunge for three minutes (so did Matt!) which made me feel so energised afterwards. Then we headed out for a birthday dinner at a pub by the sea, and I showed you my very “me” Zara birthday jumper. It was such a lovely way to mark it — just proper family time, especially as the boys are getting older.
