Happy New Year and welcome to my Mexico vlog! We came out to Cancun for some winter sun (we usually fly around the 26th/27th) and I’m finally picking the camera up after being here nearly a week. This trip felt extra special because we came with our friends, and we surprised the kids at the airport which was honestly so lovely. In this video I take you along for a very typical, very chilled day at the Royalton Riviera Splash Cancun — breakfast, pool time, beach football, and just soaking up that proper “switch off” feeling that’s hard to get at home. I also share a few practical bits, like why the jet lag actually suits us (early mornings = easier to get sunbeds and breakfast before it’s manic), and why we upgraded to the Diamond Club during high season for the quieter breakfast and help booking restaurants. You’ll see the food options (buffet, food truck, all-inclusive treats), the entertainment like the white party, and some of our favourites like teppanyaki — plus the boys absolutely loved the laser tag and arcade area. I finish with a room tour of our connecting rooms, which worked perfectly for our family of five, and a little review of the resort layout, facilities and overall vibe.
