A 1976 Honda CB550 chopper that hasn’t seen the road since Jimmy Carter was new in the job. Last tagged in 1978, allegedly rear-ended, rolled into a shed… and left there for almost 50 years. The kind of bike that was absolutely somebody’s pride back in the day. In today’s episode, we give this long-lost time capsule a proper once-over. Not a full teardown yet—just that first inspection where you walk around, poke at the sketchy stuff, and start building the mental grocery list of everything it’s gonna take to wake this thing up. We check wiring, sniff the tank (as one does), wiggle bars, shake pipes, and look for the usual chopper crimes committed in the 1970s. And the surprise? It’s got spark. Clean, strong spark. After almost five decades of sitting. That alone feels like cheating. Now that we’ve got spark, all we really need is spark + compression.
