This is the same little bike we freed up after the Benelli 650 Tornado gave us trouble — I figured this one would be a quick win. But in true vintage motorcycle fashion, the GT80 had other plans. A destroyed generator coil and mangled points brought that plan to a screeching halt. Rather than call it quits, we pivoted to the GT80’s rival — the 1974 Kawasaki MC1-90. Could this scrappy Kawasaki redeem the day? We dive in, check the basics, and see if we can get it to fire up after who knows how many decades.
