In this episode we turn our attention back to the engine for the beautiful Derby Green Metallic 1971 Honda CB350. Before this engine can go back in the freshly painted frame, it needed a serious cleanup. Years of dirt, grease, oxidation and grime had this old Honda engine looking rough, so we broke out the Dremel, wire brushes and a whole lot of patience. Bit by bit the original aluminum started shining through again. Once everything was cleaned up it was time for paint. We used Nu-Cast™ Aluminum SP995 which turned out to be a fantastic match to the original factory Honda finish. This old CB350 engine is finally starting to look like it belongs in the Derby Green build. There’s still more work ahead, but this project is slowly transforming from a pile of tired old parts into one beautiful vintage Honda.
