The Honda C200 was one of Honda’s early step-through motorcycles, built during the era when Honda was proving to the world that small motorcycles could be dependable, practical, and fun. With its pressed steel frame, leading-link front suspension, and classic vintage styling, these little bikes helped lay the groundwork for Honda’s worldwide success. This particular C200 has a bit of a story behind it. A few years ago I picked it up for my son-in-law with plans of putting it back together someday. Well… life happened. With a baby arriving in the coming weeks, priorities have changed and he decided it was time to let someone else take over the project. So in this episode we begin sorting through years of neglect, rodent damage, chewed wiring, and general old motorcycle crustiness to see if this little Honda still has a heartbeat left in it. We clean things up, troubleshoot the electrical system, check for spark, and eventually coax this old survivor into making some noise again for the first time in a long time. It’s still going to need more work before it’s road ready, but hearing it fire off was a huge win and a solid first step toward saving another vintage Honda.
