If you’re used to clutch levers and toe shifters, the Hondamatic throws all that out the window. No clutch. No shifting. Just twist and go… at least that’s the idea. In this episode, we roll the CB750A into the garage and start the process of bringing it back to life. We’re not doing a full restoration (yet), just the important stuff — figuring out what we’re working with, checking over the basics, and seeing how cooperative this long-parked automatic four-cylinder wants to be. The Hondamatic was Honda doing Honda things in the late ’70s — experimenting, over-engineering, and confusing motorcyclists all at the same time. Love them or hate them, these bikes are rare now, and you don’t see many being revived anymore. Will it run? Will it move under its own power? Will the transmission behave? That’s all part of the journey as we begin getting this CB750 back on the road where it belongs. As always, this is Motorcycle Rewind — no deadlines, no pressure, just old bikes getting another chance. 💬 Join the channel to support Motorcycle Rewind and get early access, badges, and behind-the-scenes perks. 🛠️ Subscribe to Motorcycle Rewind for more revivals, adventures, tips, and stories from the garage.
