This bike hasn’t seen fresh oil since the late 1970s, so we had no idea what to expect when we pulled the drain plug for the first time in almost 50 years. In this episode, we change the oil on the CB550 and take a closer look inside the cylinders to see if things have improved since the last time we checked. Using a borescope, we inspect the cylinder walls, piston tops, and overall condition to see whether time has been kind—or cruel—to this long-neglected engine. This is all part of the slow resurrection of a true survivor. No full restoration, no shortcuts—just seeing how much life is still left in a motorcycle that’s been waiting decades to run again.
