Happy Friday besties — in ep. 3 of my Sims 2: Castaway (2007) playthrough, I head back to our deserted island to see what shenanigans we can get up to (aka: survive while the camera fights me and it’s pitch black 90% of the time). I’m juggling classic Castaway chaos: hungry, tired, low hygiene, and trying to remember where I built my little home setup. I craft an oven, cook citrus fish to stop myself from literally starving, and start knocking out goals like building a table, crafting a shirt, and setting chicken traps (spoiler: I fail to catch a chicken). I also finally make some progress on tools — I craft an obsidian knife and an obsidian-tipped spear because I’m determined to hunt a boar… except I keep standing there like “how do I attack this guy?” while the boar just vibes. I plant crop plots (bamboo + pineapple supremacy), scramble for vines to make lighting, and discover I apparently could’ve fast traveled this whole time which made me want to scream. We recruit Crafty into my tribe, hang around the fire for social/fun, and I poke around the cave/ancient door situation even though I’m still missing whatever I need to open it. Cozy? Yes. Functional? Questionable. Comfy? Always.
