👉 We’ll add a custom HTML listener script inside GTM to detect whenever a visitor copies text from your site. This event will then be sent to GA4, Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, and other marketing platforms for better remarketing and audience building. ✨ MD FAISAL AMIN — Tracking & Analytics Specialist GA4 • GTM • Meta CAPI • Server-Side Tracking Expert 👨‍💼 Work With Me 🔗 https://linktr.ee/mdfaisalaminbd 📅 Book a Free Website Tracking Audit 🔗 https://zcal.co/faialamindm/30min 🤩 Client Testimonials (Real Results) 🔗 https://youtu.be/0-6M7UT9z4M?si=207yqL8w5Z8jzv0M 💬 WhatsApp — Instant Chat 🔗 https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=8801726269000 📨 Telegram — Fast Response 🔗 https://t.me/webanalyticsfaisalamin 🔗 Connect With Me 🌐 Website: 🔗 https://mdfaisalamin.com 📧 Email: 🔗 faisalaminseomarketer@gmail.com ▶️ YouTube: 🔗 https://youtube.com/@mdfaisalamin 💼 LinkedIn: 🔗 https://linkedin.com/in/mdfaisalamindm 📘 Facebook: 🔗 https://facebook.com/mdfaisalamindm 🐦 Twitter (X): 🔗 https://twitter.com/mdfaisalamindm ☎️ Phone: 🔗 +88 01726269000 What you’ll learn: ✔ How to add a text copy listener script in GTM ✔ How to push copy events into the Data Layer ✔ How to send copy events to GA4, Facebook, Google Ads & more ✔ How to use this tracking for remarketing and engagement analysis 📊 By tracking text copies, you can identify which content your users find valuable — and turn that into smarter ads & improved conversions.

About This Video

Hi digital marketers, this is Salamin. In this video I show you how to set up a text copy event on your website using Google Tag Manager. The main idea is simple: if anybody comes to your website and copies any text, I want to catch that action with a listener script (Custom HTML tag), then fire a “text copied” event so I can track those users for engagement analysis and remarketing. I test everything in GTM Preview (Tag Assistant). When I select any text and copy it, you’ll see the “text copied” event firing, and you can also see the copied text value coming through. After that, I map the same event to different platforms: GA4 (as a GA4 Event tag with the event name from preview), Meta/Facebook Pixel (as a custom event), and Google Ads conversion tracking. I also pass useful parameters like the clipboard text and page URL/page path, so in reporting you can understand what content people are actually copying. Finally, I explain that the same structure works for other platforms too—TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat—because once the event is inside GTM, you can reuse it everywhere. If you already know how to create tags, triggers, and variables, you can implement this very fast and build smarter audiences from real on-page intent.
