About This Video

Hi digital marketers, this is Faisal Amin. In this video I show you the complete Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) UET tag setup for eCommerce conversion tracking—mainly Purchase and Begin Checkout. I start from the Microsoft Advertising interface: how to create a new UET tag, why I recommend naming it with your business name (so you can easily link it with conversions later), and where to copy the Tag ID. I skip the basic GTM “tag/trigger/variable” fundamentals because I already covered those on my channel, and I go straight into the practical setup. Then I install the UET base tag through Google Tag Manager on All Pages and test it using Tag Assistant plus the Microsoft UET Tag Helper extension to confirm the pageLoad event is firing correctly. After that, I create conversion goals in Microsoft Advertising using Manual setup (not the simplified auto method), choose Sales category, select Event type, set revenue model as “conversion action value” (so I can pass my dataLayer purchase value), and keep attribution as last click. Finally I build the custom conversion tags in GTM for Purchase and Begin Checkout, map value and currency from the data layer, trigger them on the right events, and do a dummy order to verify the custom event fires with the correct parameters. Note: Microsoft doesn’t provide server-side tracking facilities like this, so here I focus on browser-side tracking.
